The first article is the Art of Assessing Risks, which provides an overview of different risk assessment methods.

The second article is PtD for hazards in construction. You’ll become familiar with risk reduction strategies and a methodology that utilizes Excel-based risk reduction tools. You can use the provided template to develop your final project. The only difference is the added financial analysis.

Dr.has included a video describing the project in more detail. He will also be helping review your projects. This will be a valuable addition to the course and we appreciate his feedback!

Park Ranger Project Essay Assignment

You are working as a park ranger for any natural park in the world.

(Water parks and other amusement parks are not allowed. Carowinds is not allowed.)

You will need to know about the ecosystem that you are in charge of and have it readily at your fingertips.

As you start your job you are researching your park and making an info sheet.

(Hint: Choose a LARGE Park, such as a national or state park. You will find more information on it.)

This is the first part of a project. The second part which will use this info is a Perform, so be diligent in your work.

This is to be done in Google Docs and submitted to this assignment.

Include on this Document:

1. Name of the park (2 points)
2. The location – country and address (2 points)
3. The size/area of the park – how big is it (2 points)
4. the website(s) used for research- so that if I want to visit it I can plan a trip 😃 (2 points)
5. When, how and why the park was established (2 points)
6. How has the park changed over time (2 points)
7. Highlights of the history of the park (2 points)
8. Detail the abiotic interests in the Park (4 points)
9. Detail the biotic Flora (at least 10 plant descriptions) and Fauna (at least 10 animal descriptions) in the park (6 points)
10. Describe the ecosystem of the park – you can use a food web to help with this.(6 points)
11. Include a Energy pyramid of the ecosystem with multiple organisms in each level (6 points)
12. Explain why this particular park is important for people (4 points)

Extra Credit: Give interesting detailed facts and/or stories about the park. (+2 points per GOOD story/interesting fact that was not above. Max of two interesting things count for extra credit. )
