Using Portfolium To Create A Writing Portfolio

As your final project for this course, you will be using Portfolium to create a writing portfolio. This portfolio gives you a chance to showcase your work as a writer, engage more deeply in the writing process, and reflect on your growth and future as a writer.

Instructions

Your portfolio should include the following items, which you set up in Module 7.

1.Research Essay

2.Presentation or Photo Essay

3.Reflective Cover Letter

4.ENG100 Revised Writing

ENG100 Revised Writing can be any assignment from this class that you have revised after it was originally submitted in order to incorporate feedback from your instructor.

The reflective cover letter should be detailed and should not only introduce yourself as a writer but should also provide your reflections on the following:

1.What you have learned from this course.

2.How your portfolio pieces demonstrate your learning process.

3.How you will use skills you have learned in this course to continue to grow as a writer.

In your cover letter, be sure to address the following:

1.Introduce yourself as a writer. How did you feel about your writing skills coming into this class? How have those feelings changed since taking this class?

2.What are some particular areas of growth and success for you as a writer that you have experienced in this course? Give some examples of your growth. How do the pieces of your portfolio demonstrate this growth? Be sure to review the course outcomes and make connections to the course outcomes in your letter.

3.What are some particular areas of struggle you have experienced as a writer throughout this course? How have you overcome these struggles?

4.Using the class module reflections throughout the term as a guide, explore some of the ways the skills you have learned in this course will help you as continue your journey as a writer in your future classes and in the workplace.

5.Finally, what do you hope to improve upon as a writer? What successes can you build upon? What do you hope someone can see demonstrated in the quality of the pieces of your portfolio?
