Using theories and concepts discussed in class (as well as a personal narrative), you will compose an analysis of your personal self-concept. You will use terms (and definitions) discussed in class to analyze; what your self-concept is, how it came to be, is it working, and how can you improve. Make sure to use clear concrete examples from your life for the concepts you are explaining. Make the connection between the example and the concept clear. Concepts/theories for this paper will be mostly from chapter 2 and 3 from your textbook. You are required to use at least 5 key terms from the class (the terms “self-concept” and “self-esteem” are required terms that do not count toward the 5 additional required terms.). Each key term needs to be in bold, be clearly defined, cited, and linked to a detailed personal example. Furthermore, every example must be linked back to a concept.
Consider answering these questions in your paper:
How do you feel about yourself? (Self-esteem)
What events/people have contributed to the development of your self-concept? How?
How is your self-concept and self-esteem guiding your current behavior, relationships, life choices, etc.? How do you know?
What do you plan to change about your self-concept, if anything? How will you attempt to change it? What steps will you take?
How is culture guiding your view of self?

Property Taxes and a World-Class House
The district received 65,000 assessment protests in 1993, one of them being from Mr. Perot. He had not protested in earlier years, but comparable sales in the neighborhood led him to conclude that his properties were overassessed. After the initial hearing, his assessment was reduced by $96,100; he filed suit for further reduction in state district court, the normal avenue to continue the appeal. Following routine procedure, assessing officials will inspect and appraise the property; that is the normal approach to beginning negotiations
