The film “Paris is Burning “highlighted a group of people who consider themselves gay. This group of people, trying to prove themselves in their world trying to be somebodies. They worked together in order to found a competition that could help encourage them the present their values through that competition. This competition called “ The Ball”. Participating on this completion means a lot for them. The Ball competition is basically a space where participant walk around it in order give enjoyment to the audience who is watching them. In this competition, they have the freedom to do whatever they intend to in order the attract and entertain the audience. In addition, trying there best to win the prize which they consider it to be as the Oscar prize. It is the fantasy of being superstar. They believe that this completion make them stronger and think more. In addition, the audience motivate them to walk in this space and bring enjoyment to them. There are legends who won lots of prizes in this competition. Some of them are working to bring their experience to the next generation, so they could be legends as they were in there successful journey as they believe. These people are facing issues in terms of there gender, class, and race portrayed. Some of them have no place to live, others are getting abused because of there gender and race portrayed. This competition is valuable for them because it could make their future better and brighter.
