My topic is : The output of literature is often tightly interweaved with the historical, political and sociological circumstances of the era in which it occurs. What were some of the major historical and sociopolitical changes in Victorian Britain that may have impacted upon shaping characteristic aspects of the 19th century British Novel? You may choose to discuss for example politics , education , religion , gender roles , class with reference to the novels studied in the course ( Pride & Prejudice , Jane Eyre). Also the tutor gave us some advices on this topic. She said to choose from politics , education , religion , gender roles and class and focus on 2-3. Give examples from the novels where we see these elements. For example, what do you know about education at this era (Who, where,how..). Parts of the novels where we are informed as readers about education. Lastly, she said to keep in mind that there are some differences from Austen’s to Brontë’s time.
