Supply, Chain, Operations, Management, Question
Amanda’s Post
It’s definitely going to affect the distribution capabilities. Not to mention the warehousing and logistics management of the company.
Since it will affect the capabilities of supply chain, and will lack on their end, it will decrease delivery time for the company. It will increase the costs for the company; therefore, the company will lose their customers and their business will ultimately be affected.
As CEO of the company wouldn’t you already have expectations and that bar set from supply chain? The VP of supply chain should address the situation and make use of all of the resources that he possibly can, even if it meant finding alternate ways to deliver the goods and to please the customers by on time delivery.
As a CEO or I think I have a right to expect that the VP would have plan in place to handle the risks efficiently and be able to move it in motion. The VP needs to ensure that his inventories are maintained as well as the needs of their customers efficiently and accurately.
If VP utilizes and focus’ on available resources and utilization with their manufacturing department, then they would reduce the overall operating cost for the company. If he also focused on operating in the manner to serve nothing but their customers, that increases the market and profit for their company.

Mychala’s Post
-Assume you are the CEO of Peerless Products and that you are aware of your company’s lack of overall end-to-end supply chain capability. What are some of the high-level, adverse impacts on your business that may occur?
Without the end-to-end supply chain capabilities, the lead times for the products are going to increase. This increase in lead times is also causing an increase in operation times and overhead costs associated with that such as electricity bills, water bills, and man hours. The distribution capabilities of Peerless is greatly diminished too, including the warehousing and logistics management.
The greater lead times for the products are also leading to greater delivery times and ultimately the loss of customers and negative reviews. This will cause Peerless to have to increase marketing and customer service representatives. Peerless Products will be greatly affected by their lack of end-to-end.
What steps would you recommend be taken to help avoid the types of adverse impacts identified above?
While the company is in transition into a greater version of itself, I would offer current and repeat customers better offers and benefits. In an effort to save face to the current costumers and ensure them that their frustrations are valid. Next step would to find local suppliers to reduce the lead times and maintain a steady lead time. Finding a vendor to deliver the end item goods would also help with the delivery times and create a better customer relationship.
