For your project in this course, you will be designing several elements to a sales and marketing program for a fictitious team, which you will create.
To begin the project, you will do the following this week:
Choose a host city for your team (e.g. Chicago, Bradenton, Wichita City, etc.)
Create your team name and moniker (e.g., Charleston Lightning, Rock City Rams, Bradenton Bears, etc.)
Choose a sport (e.g., football, basketball, lacrosse, etc.)
Choose the league they are a part of (e.g., NHL, MiLB, Arena Football, etc.)
Identify your stadium or arena your team plays in (this can be a real place, or one you make up – provide the name)
Identify the seating capacity of the stadium
Provide a seating map of the stadium/arena
Create a ticket plan for your team (this will be Assignment #2 in Week 2
Part 2.
Develop three different levels (Gold, Silver, and Bronze packages) of sponsorships that your sales team will pitch to potential sponsors. Include all deliverables that the sponsor will receive as well as the value (i.e., cost) assigned to that level of sponsorship. Remember, you can provide all types of deliverables: PA announcements, radio/tv spots, website ads, banners, signage, hospitality, tickets, in-game contests and promotions, etc.
From your own research and from the text, consider the corporation-related sponsorship objectives. Identify one sponsor for each level that you might target for sponsorship (from local businesses, regional businesses and/or national businesses). Specifically identify the corporation-related sponsorship objectives that you believe your sponsorship proposals incorporate for each of those sponsors whom you would pitch
part 3
Identify a sponsored promotion that you would utilize at one of your sport contests (e.g., half-court shot for a new car, punt for cash, etc.)
Describe the promotion – what will happen, who will the participant(s) be, what will the prize(s) be, when will it occur (regularly or only during one event?)?
Discuss the type of sponsor that this might be sold to and/or the sponsorship package this might be included in.
Identify your ideal sponsor for this contest
Develop a waiver for the participant(s) in this contest
Identify at least 3 potential legal risks related to this promotion
