Instructions: For the Evidence-informed Literature Review, you will submit a paper that demonstrates evidence to support the use of a particular therapeutic approach for working with your intended population and topic for your Group Curriculum project. Keep in mind the following as you work on this component of the group curriculum project: You should find at least five (5) journal articles on the topic of interest. You can use book chapters or websites (be careful here though) but they will not count toward your five journal articles. Please do not limit yourself to five articles. If you find more, include more, as doing so will make your project stronger. The journal articles you use should be evidence-based studies.

Therefore, you must thoroughly read the articles to determine if they meet criteria for an evidence-based study. The methods used in the studies can be qualitative or quantitative but they cannot just be someone’s opinion. Once you find articles and read them, your next step is to look for themes. To produce a comprehensive and thorough literature review, you should take the common themes that you identify in the journal articles and describe them in your own words (take care to avoid plagiarizing). You can then give evidence for the statements you make in your literature review by citing the studies with specific examples. For example, you can write “Theme 1,” then write, “For example, in Smith (2017), there was a 40% improvement for clients who participated in the study with this approach [name the approach, method or similar], when compared to those who did not participate in the treatment groups.”
