I’m trying to learn for my Communications class and I’m stuck. Can you help?
Reflect on the TED talks (located below), which provide a range of perspectives on the negatives and positives of online community. On synthesizing the many different talks by these academic thinkers and critical speakers, outline some of the major 1. Negatives, and 2. Positives of online community. In your reflection, please also point out which do you think is more prevalent, negative effects or positive effects, what we should be concerned about with online community, and if possible, how we can create a safer online community space for all.

UCLA Black Journal and the Media Discussion
1 – Read: “For Us, By Us” by Doreen St. Felix from The New Yorker, August 31, 2020
2 Watch the debut episode of Black Journal.
In your opinion what makes this a “public” television show.
Would you a think a commercial network would create a Black “public affairs” show?
What relevance do you think the subject matter has in today’s racial climate? 2-Read the following article: Why Does Local Matter? Let’s Ask The Audience
After you are done reading the article, please submit a short paper answering the following questions:1 – Of the 7 audience comments about the value of “local,” choose two comments that resonate with you and explain why.2 – Choose one “local” media source that you use regularly (it doesn’t have to be public media only – you can choose commercial media), and explain what it is, the platform you engage with it on, and why you are drawn to it.
