Social Justice Educational Presentation Case

For this assignment, you will create a short (1-2 minutes) video or a 10-12 slide digital presentation (PowerPoint, Prezi, etc.) that you could share with students and their families that discusses why and how you will

teach for social justice.  Consider how your personal identity, worldview, and prior experiences affect your perceptions and expectations in interacting with students and their families.

Identify a biblical verse that inspires you to teach for social justice.  The following list may guide you:

1. Matthew 7:12 (NIV)

In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

2. Philippians 2:3 (NIV)

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves

Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity and sound speech

4. Proverbs 22:6  (NIV)

This week your will notice in the directions of the assignment to select a verse from the Bible to discuss in regarding Teaching Social Justice.

Three verses were included on the assignment page from the New International Version (NIV) of the Bible which are:

1. “In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets” (Matthew 7:12);
2. “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves” (Philippians 2:3);
3. “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it” (Proverbs 22:6).

One verse was included from the English Standard Version (ESV) of the Bible:

1. “Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity and sound speech” (Titus 2:7-8a).

Important Information ***Compressing a PowerPoint File to submit LoudCloud*** Please Read

I am not sure if you are aware, but a file submitted in LoudCloud cannot be larger than 10MB. If the PowerPoint this week ends up being larger than 10MB you will have to compress the file, and this can be done in a

Another item to be aware of when submitting is that the PowerPoint file must be submitted as a .ppt or .pptx, .pptm are not accepted file formats I the LoudCloud system. If you have any questions on this, please make

sure to ask before the course ends because assignments cannot be accepted past the due date listed on your calendar or through email or the Private Forum submission
