Individual Assignment Task
The main task is to produce a Final Report, which documents all the technical aspects of the project, the purpose behind the technical decisions, the findings that have emerged after completing the project, and the conclusions reached.
The report should be guideline 6000 words in length.
The report should be written in the third person perspective.
Do not copy work from the preparation progress report, instead reference to it as appropriate.
Projects vary considerably, but a typical Final Report should include:
o Background context – Set the scene of the project.
o Need/purpose of the project – Why the project is important.
o Aim and objectives – In order of importance e.g. primary, secondary, etc.
o In these sections you will explain how you achieved the project objectives and justify the approach. It should be supported by a literature or technical review and/or theory. You must be able to demonstrate that the work is grounded in existing knowledge and established methodologies.
o The results of the investigations/activities should be presented, analysed and evaluated using techniques appropriate to the subject area. Any software, equipment, instrumentation, etc. used should be fully specified.
o Appropriate use should be made of diagrams, graphs, etc. If the project involves many diagrams, then just provide suitable examples. The remainder can be presented in the appendices. Do not include computer code unless there are key fragments that exceptionally require special explanation.
o Do not include large amounts of theoretical information that is already published in books or conference/journal articles. Instead, paraphrase and reference such material where needed. The report is primarily concerned with the work you have done yourself.
o Practical Attainments, Findings and Output – Results from completing the project and the impact they could have e.g. economic, social and environmental issues.
o Critical Appraisal – Technical review and evaluation of the project’s practical attainments, findings and output, both positive and negative.
o Project Management – A critical discussion of project management including key milestones and critical aspects on the project timeline. Discuss the project time plan and Gantt chart.
o Extra diagrams and/or tables of data which would be too much detail for the body of the report. They can be here so as not to break the flow of the report for the reader. o Extra time plan, Gantt chart, documents if too large for the main body.
o Extra analysis and design documents, UML, data sheets, simulation data, results etc. that help evidence the technical results and work undertaken.
o Your additional notes, logbook entries, meeting records with your supervisor etc.

Literature Support
91-84 points The context and relevance of the issue, as well as a clear description of the study aim, are presented. The history of searches is discussed. |
Methodology
58-53 points With titles for each slide as well as bulleted sections to group relevant information as required, the content is well-organized. Excellent use of typeface, color, images, effects, and so on to improve readability and presenting content. The minimum length criterion of 10 slides/pages is reached. |
Average Score
50-85% |
40-38 points
More depth/information is required for the context and importance, otherwise the study detail will be unclear. There is no search history information supplied. |
83-76 points
There is a review of important theoretical literature, however there is limited integration of research into problem-related ideas. The review is just partly focused and arranged. There is research that both supports and opposes. A summary of the material given is provided. The conclusion may or may not include a biblical integration. |
52-49 points
The content is somewhat ordered, but there is no discernible organization. The use of typeface, color, graphics, effects, and so on may sometimes distract from the presenting substance. It is possible that the length criteria will not be reached. |
Poor Quality
0-45% |
37-1 points
The context and/or importance are lacking. There is no search history information supplied. |
75-1 points
There has been an examination of relevant theoretical literature, but still no research concerning problem-related concepts has been synthesized. The review is just somewhat focused and organized. The provided overview of content does not include any supporting or opposing research. The conclusion has no scriptural references. |
48-1 points
There is no logical or apparent organizational structure. There is no discernible logical sequence. The use of typeface, color, graphics, effects, and so on often detracts from the presenting substance. It is possible that the length criteria will not be reached. |
