Instructions
Organizations are structured in many different ways. To address substantive improvement, an effective leader needs to develop a solid understanding regarding the structure of the organization. Using the assigned readings for the course as well as additional applicable scholarly sources, describe, in sufficient detail, supportive references that cite the perceptual role of structure within organizational functioning that involve the following: Utilizing
Structural assumptions.
Structural tensions of differentiation and integration.
Benefits and limitations of vertical and lateral coordination.
Characteristics of effective structural change.
Determinants of successful teams.
Accurately researching the existing structure and processes, development of new organizational goals and strategies more aligned with current needs and challenges, determining effective initiatives to continue and ineffective ones to remove, and implementing more lateral coordination of organizational tasks.
Presenting the form of organizational structure operating within an educational setting of interest (e.g., school or school district) and how it could be possibly restructured for improvement by developing a Mind map of the original and restructured organization.
PR and the Power of Public Relations Paper
PUBLIC RELATIONS:
In class we talked about PR and the power of public relations. With PR being all around us, from politics to products, what impact does PR have on the press and how does this affect our world today?
Therefore…
Take a look at a PR crisis, what occurred and how did the company handle the situation.
What was the company’s/brand’s/celebrity’s response?
Take an in depth look at timelines…when were messages sent out, what language was used, what was trying to be communicated, what media did they use to get the message across?
Then do research and see if the PR actually did its job. Did it increase sales or sell a product/brand? Did the brand’s perception change? Was society talking about the ad, creating buzz and awareness? Who came out on top…. the good or bad
Then question… What is PR’s lasting impact on society? Did the PR spin help shape an social norms? Did the PR actually work? Did PR change society or did society change PR and what we believe is acceptable?
