Right to Die
Use at least four scholarly references to support your claims. Be sure to carefully review the rubric for specifics on selecting and integrating sources to effectively support your rationale. Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is not required. This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion. You are required to submit this assignment to Lopes Write. A link to the Lopes Write technical support articles is located in Class Resources if you need assistance. I have been trying to provide guidance for this week’s assignment since the beginning of class. Please read the following to help you be successful:
1. Using the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 7th edition, is not optional. If you do not have and use this publication you will have problems. Chapters 2, 8, 9, and 10 are very important to follow.2. You are not taking any side in the discussion. You are doing an analysis of the two articles provided on the topic selected. You must use the grading rubric to guide your paper’s development. You need to identify the strengths, weaknesses, and logical fallacies used by the authors.3. Do not use first person. You are writing in the third person only. Do not use I, me, my, mine, us, we, you, your, or yours. 4. Your introduction paragraph must tell reader the purpose (thesis statement) of the essay and how you intend to present your data. An exampled is provided below. 5. Do not list the titles of the article or names of the journals in the body of your paper, as this is not needed and is distracting. That is what the references page is for, and having them does not add to the content. Cite the authors/researchers, as it is their work you are critiquing.6. Do not have have a high SI score (keep this number a low as possible) and do not use more than 10% quotes. Review your Lopes write report prior to submitting this for a grade. Be sure to cite everything you write. 7. Finally, your word count must be between 1,250 and 1,500 words. This begins with the first word of your opening paragraph and ends with the last word of your concluding paragraph. Stay within these perimeters. Example guide for the opening paragraph:

This paper is about XYZ. A brief historical perspective will be shared followed by an analysis of opposing sides of the topic. The analysis will consist of identifying the methodology used by the researchers and discussing the strengths and weaknesses of each article. The logical fallacies used by the researchers will also be addressed and the implications of using them. Finally, this topic is significant for future implications because…Please be sure to use your words. Some phrases that are helpful might include, “The purpose of this essay is to …” You can also provide some insights into the topic, “The controversy surrounding the impact videos games has…”; “There are benefits associated with the advancements made within the medical community, and one of those is the prolongment of life. With this comes many challenges including… ”
Again, use your wording and cite when you write! Refer to the grading rubric to ensure you have covered all of the items being graded.
If you follow this guidance you will be successful. Use grammar and spell checkers to help as well. Do not use any citation program, as they are not correct per the APA 7th edition. Chapters 8, 9, and 10 are needed for creating those.
