1) Choose a movie or a TV show with a psychological theme (Examples: “Sybil”; “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest”; “A Beautiful Mind”; “The Three Faces of Eve”; “The Blind Side”; “Enough”; “Rain Man”; “Driving Miss Daisy”; “Fatal Attraction”; “The Sopranos”; “This is US”; “You’re the Worst”; or choose one where you can identify a psychological theme)

2) View the movie (even if you have seen it previously, please watch again so you will have current memory on the movie) Take notes as you watch the movie about the character that you believe you will want to “study” in depth.
3) Write a 8- 10 page reaction/research paper (A eight page paper does not include the cover page nor the reference page–at least an 8 page paper not to include the cover page nor the reference page).
4) Your paper should include: a) Introduction to the Character (2 – 3 pages) — (important background information, profession, major life events, history of mental illness in character’s family). b) Specific Psychological Situation Portrayed By Character (4 – 5 pages)– Research the specific psychological situation or disorder brought out in the movie/TV series in three or four articles that you can find on the Internet and in information from your etext and share information from the articles/etext about the psychological situation/disorder (Use APA Style to cite your sources on the reference page) c) Conclusion (2 -3 pages)– how well did the character portray the psychological situation or disorder
5) Paper is to be double-spaced with no larger than a 12 point Times New Roman font and should be at least 8 pages (not to include the cover page nor the reference page as part of the count). Be sure to cite references using the APA Style. Be care not use plagiarism (grade will be lowered if student plagiarizes)
