Personal Assessment of Management 2. The PIA I selected asked me a variety of questions about how react to situations in my personal life and my career. It determines a score about my management skills once all questions are completed. The results will show whether you have a low (below 376), a normal (between 376 and 430) or a high (above 430) development of management skills. I was surprised to see that I have a low development of management skills. I believed that my management skills were fairly normal, however there is always room for improvement. I see that based from the scores a few categories that I should improve on are solving problems and creativity, communicating supportively, and motivating others. I’m not usually in a situation where need to motivate others or where I need to communicate supportively, but I am up for the challenge. Being aware of this new information helps me greatly within my career. I am able to try to improve my management skills and know which exact categories need improvement. 3. I believe adding value together as a firm and with the employees together because that means that as a whole everyone has a contribution to making the company a better place. Adding value isn’t just about increasing profits for the company but about building a relationship with the workers and the consumers involved with the company. Not only will adding value build up the company, but it allows increases employee engagement within the firm. It is important for a manager to truly understand the benefits for adding value because it has many bright outcomes for the company itself, such as increasing profits but also building a family within the company and its customers. When making decisions for the company, the manager must not think only profits or themselves, but about everyone the decision is going to make. A manager has to take into consideration that the value they believe to be benefiting the company could actually harm the business. 4. Does communicating supportively mean being there for someone in general or when they are put in a tough position?
