Introduction:
Frank Lloyd Wright (June 8, 1867 – April 9, 1959) was one of the pioneering and early architects of the first half of the twentieth century. It is by far the most famous throughout American history and is still known either to the public or to professionals.
Wright is the creator of a set of ideas for urban planning grouped under the title “Broadacre City”, and presented his idea in his book “The Disappearing City”, which revealed at the time a huge model (3.6 * 3.6 square meters) to visualize it about the future city he imagines and he kept showing it in many of the forums that he goes to in the following years, and he also developed in this idea until his death in 1959 AD.
Wright practiced what is called organic architecture, which is intended to develop the architectural form of the building and its construction according to the surrounding environment and what was important to Wright mostly is the relationship of the foregoing to the needs of the client. Therefore, one of his most important works is the waterfall house. I will explain to you about it in detail.
that shows the close relationship between nature and architecture, and with the expectations of the family whose son was studying in the Wright School that the building be on the other side of the waterfall to allow them to see the waterfall from the windows, but I saw everyone surprised and surprised expectations by merging the house with the waterfall itself!
Contrasting is used in the texture, as its walls are of untreated limestone laid in contrast to polished blocks of white cement, iron and shiny glass, and this construction was based on the connection between the horizontal lines of concrete with vertical lines of the walls, glass openings, and the stems of the forest trees.
Horizontal projection analysis:
The villa has four entrances, the first leads from the forest to the centre of the living room directly, and the second entrance to the kitchen directly from the side of the road, and the third is the main entrance and leads from the back road in the northern side of the villa to the entrance hall, then the living level rises three degrees, and to the left of the main entrance it rises by three Steps to a staircase leading to the hospitality suite above
Axes of movement (vertical and horizontal):
A- Main: There are three drawers, the first from the kitchen to the upper terrace and the upper floor directly, and the second from the living and dining room to the upper floor where the bedrooms and the third from the living terrace to the guest suite as a private entrance for guests
Spaces distribution:
The main floor consists of a large living room that opens onto other areas attached to it as a food corner and kitchen room and two large terraces and connects with a ladder that connects from the eastern terrace to the basin and there are steps extending from the centre of the living room to the table where the shallow water is impractical even to take a bath and its shape Extreme and hold the feather room open on
Building compositions but I saw I wanted the main void to reach the food and kitchen corner.
The open living space of the eastern living terrace
In the house (the living room) with energy, movement and vitality in the waterfall, so that the seated is connected to the vital force below it.
As well as the concrete pergola located on the eastern terrace gives an indication of the vertical extension to the sky and horizontally to living, and this is a kind of connection between the interior and exterior.
As for the Frank Lloyd Wright holes in general, we notice that the glass panels in the corners converge with each other without covering them with the metal ring so as not to impede the view.
The upper floor is divided into almost independent apartments, each with a living part, another for the bedrooms, and a small private terrace. In one of them there is a guest suite.
Living was directed to the southern side of their need for the sun and the use of large openings along the wall to allow the greatest amount of sunlight to enter and the most magnificent view.
