Identify a topic in your specialization. (For IT students, Information Technology is not a topic; however, Millennial’s perceptions of smart phone technology could be a topic. For leadership students, leadership or leadership styles would be too broad. You could, however, compare leader and followers’ perceptions of leadership styles in private four-year institutions. These are examples)
The topic for the research is “Impact of Information technology on productivity.
What is the cited problem? The problem you want to address has to come from the literature, and be cited, who are saying there are problems.
Most recently, the ongoing trend toward globalisation has made IT one of the most significant elements in the development of new markets, the improvement of quality and the improvement of service to customers. Numerous recent studies have highlighted its effects on economic growth, productivity, jobs, organisation of work and competitiveness
What is the population you would like to address?
When doing research, the collection of data from all the prospective analytical units involved in the study issue is frequently impracticable, impractical or too costly.
A smaller number of units are typically selected, a sample, to reflect the important characteristics of the population of the entire series of units. Because samples are not fully representative of the community they are derived from, the researcher cannot be sure that the findings will generalise the whole population.
What methodology are you planning on using? (If you are unsure, do you plan on a quantitative or qualitative study? You will determine your methodology in 839).
Qualitative research, using a limited number of respondents, is almost all exploratory. This kind of study is utilised if the aim is to understand when and how things happen instead of simply evaluating the connection between variables. Accordingly, the qualitative approach may provide the researcher a more thorough insight and investigate the intangible elements of complicated process questions.
Locate at least one article related to your topic. What was the research question in the study? Who were the participants in the study? What findings were reported?

The connection between IT and productivity seems to have been a topic of discussion. Empirical studies on IT productivity usually did not find substantial increases in productivity in the 1980s and early 1990s.
In recent times, as new data are discovered and advanced methods used, many studies have shown evidence that IT is not only linked with productivity improvements, but also intermediate measures, consumer surpluses and economic growth.
Nevertheless, new issues arise as old problems disappear. This study examines the literature, identifies other issues and ends with suggestions for the use of conventional methods in new data sources as well as other, wider welfare measures in the evaluation and improvement of IT benefits.
