Selection Committee for Application for A Scholarship Essay
write a scholarship essay
STATEMENT: Provide an essay on the following topic: Why did I choose to attend Idaho State University (ISU)? Please be aware that strong emphasis is put on this section of the application by the selection committee.
I am an international student at Idaho State University
(ISU), from a small land-locked country Nepal, a country which is very rich in
nature. I grew up in an environment which is all covered with mountains and
hills and greenery, all over. It would be fair if I say one of the reasons for
choosing ISU was because I would miss my hometown a little less if I come to
Pocatello, which is also beautifully covered with mountains and hills. I am an Engineering
student, and ISU is one of the top universities for Engineers. Before I came
here I did research about this university where it provides research experiment
at highest level. It kept me alive, motivated which is why I really wanted to
enroll in ISU as well, believing that graduating from ISU will give me a better
and bright future. The tuition fee, comparatively, is also less in ISU and
international students receive a fair amount of non-resident tuition waiver
which makes a bit easier for my parents to afford my tuition fee, as I still
have to depend upon my parents which really saddens me, having me to feel I am
a burden to them. Also, a teacher and students’ ratio are 14:1 here at ISU, and
since English is not my first language, it makes a lot easier to interact with
the professor individually as well and not being English my first language,
would not be that difficult when I can have my professor’s attention to myself.
The motto of ISU, also attracted me very much which is “Veritas Vos
Libera bit” which means, “The truth will set you free”, as I am a
firm supporter of honesty and truth, no matter how bitter it is. I really enjoy
getting to know different cultures and since ISU represents 58 different
countries, I was so certain that I would never feel alone in a place were
there are so much of diversity and unity among all people, despite the races
and colors and that is what made me so sure that I would definitely want to
attend Idaho State University and I ended up being a Bengal, and this is me
happy third year here at Sothis is what I have written so far. Please edit as required. And add your own good points to it. If need be, please go to the official site of Idaho State University and do some research.
