Middle Tennessee Americas Great Divide Essay
ANSWER THIS QUESTION:
The Frontline documentary, America’s Great Divide, argues that the transition from Barak Obama to Donald Trump revealed a country that is profoundly divided—politically, culturally, economically. Similarly, chapter 28 of our book characterizes the era from 2004 to the present as one in which the US is “A Divided Nation.” Present an essay in which you identify and characterize the political, cultural, and economic factors that divide the United States from 2004 to the present. Write an organized, well-argued essay consisting of an introduction (with thesis), body, and conclusion that answers the question below. Your essay should be double-spaced, have one-inch margins, and contain no typos or grammatical errors. The length should be between 750 and 1,000 words (about 3-4 pages). Each paragraph must contain a topic sentence, explaining the paragraph and how it advances your thesis statement.
Your essay must cite evidence from only the films referenced and our course textbook. When citing the films, use minute markers (such as 1:15) and when citing the book use page numbers (if using an e-book, cite section headings).
This will be an open-book test. You may consult your book and lecture notes. Therefore, your essay must support your thesis with as many concrete examples and analysis of those details from the book, films, and lectures.
Evaluation of your essay will be made on the basis of the four following criteria: relevance, evidence, analysis, and organization.
