The company is based in Chicago, New York as well as London in the UK, but its main headquarters are in Chicago, Illinois. The company has more than 14million diners that are active, as well as eighty thousand restaurant partners in slightly less than 2000 cities across the United Kingdom and the United States. Their online platform allows diners to order in all these restaurants. The company has a customer service team that works to satisfy the diners. Grub hub has grown its active diner network to 15.6 million users. The company was established by Matt Maloney as well as Mike Evans who were web developers seeking for alternatives to paper menus.
In 1999, a lawyer from New York, Jason Finger founded a company known as Seamless Web. The aim of the company was to equip organizations with a web-based system for ordering food from restaurants and caterers. The company was a success. In 2013, the company announced that it was merging with Grub Hub, with Grub Hub representing 42% and Seamless with 58% of the equity of both businesses combined.
