I witnessed an intake with Lori Zuniga, MSW. I witnessed a family of two (daughter and father). Father informed he lost his wife 2 years ago due to internal bleeding condition (he was not able to say the medical terminology). He expressed concerns about her daughter (who is only 10 years old) He expressed after his wife passed away they have moved 3 times due to financial straggles. And his daughter have changed schools 3 times. He informed that her daughter witnessed her mom suffer from her condition since she was 2 years old, and said: “She called the ambulance when her mother got very sick.” Father said “she has been through so much.” Father also informed he is going through immigration stressors because his legal status is in the air. He has a permit to work in the USA, but has to renew every year in order to continue working in the USA. Father is concern is that his daughter is not sleeping at night and spends too much time watching youtube videos. Daughter informed that the school counselor talks to her sometimes at school when the teacher see or feels she is feeling down or sad. She said the counselor takes her to her room when she feels sad. In conclusion, father is seeking mental health support for her daughter to cope with accepting the loss of her mother. Please help me put it in nice and professional words.
