Abnormal Psychology Question
You will be required to write a paper about a character from a movie (i.e. “client”) with one or more identifiable disorders that we have covered in class. Your paper should be no more than 3 pages in length (INCLUDING cover page). Be careful about accepting a diagnosis of your “client” that may be included in the movie you select to watch. This assignment is intended to help you learn how to access and use the DSM 5 to render a provisional diagnosis. You will be graded on your ability to provide a diagnostic rationale concerning a differential diagnosis of your “client.” In order to “build your case” you should consider relevant background and history (signs and symptoms) of the character as presented in the movie. You should also briefly discuss the best forms of treatment for this person and possible prognosis. Please address whether or not the film conveys a valid and accurate account of the disorder.
