ECON210 Microeconomics:
Paper 1 Guidelines Overview Imagine that you are a financial analyst, who has to prepare a report outlining your company’s internal and external business environment and cost structure for the company’s leadership. Choose a company to research from the list below. Information about these companies is available on Yahoo! Finance. You are also encouraged to use your company’s financial data and annual reports (usually available on its website, often under “Investor Relations” section). Additional information is available from the Franklin Business Economics Library Guide. Under the Economics Databases tab, you’ll see links to Mergent and IBISWorld. Both are excellent sources of company information. In economics the total cost of operating a business comes from two sources: explicit cost (accounting cost) and implicit cost (opportunity cost). For the purposes of this report, examine just the explicit (accounting) costs, which can be found on the company’s income statement.
