Instructions
For this assignment you will do two mini essays.
Essay 1: What is the difference between civil enforcement and criminal enforcement as applied to violations of environmental regulations and laws? Be specific and use examples to illustrate your answer. Essay 2: If you were to found your own society, describe the detailed environmental enforcement system you would put into place. State the goals and philosophy of your enforcement system. Justify each component and explain why your enforcement system would be effective. Would anybody be able or willing to live or work there? Back up your choices with real world data and/or examples to help justify your proposal. In both essays, cite all sources used in APA style using in-text citations and a reference list at the end of the essay. A fully developed response should go beyond your textbook and required readings (although you may include them), have multiple citations from valid sources (e.g., no wiki-anything) and should avoid direct quotes from other authors. Present your essay in your own words and demonstrate your mastery of the topics through synthesis of your research. You must submit your essays as an attachment. Each mini essay should be 1.5 – 2 pages and supported by at least two scholarly references in each essay.
This course uses automatic plagiarism checking software (Turnitin). You may submit your work up to 3 times prior to the deadline to check your similarity scores (aim for a green or yellow flag). It takes roughly 15 minutes for the system to process your submission and show the score.
