Define “stereotypes”, referencing and citing information from Chapter 11. Then, offer at least 2 examples of everyday racial and/or ethnic stereotyping. Now, in your opinion, why do these stereotypes persist? Consider who or what gains from maintaining these social constructions of interpersonal and institutional power.
What is white privilege? After outlining this concept with supporting references from and citations to Chapter 11, offer at least 2 examples of white privilege. Finally, in your opinion, do you believe you benefit from white privilege? Why or why not?
Differentiate between “sex” and “gender”. Then, answer the following: a) how does gender and sexual discrimination harm all individuals (both normative and non-normative identities/expressions)? and b) offer at least 2 real-world consequences for any individual exposed to gender and sexual discrimination over an extended period of time. Please reference and cite information from Chapter 12 to support your answer.
