The FBI is reather inique in that it has both law enforcement and national security concerns as part of its mission as the FBI’s mission statement puts it they are a national security oganization with both intelligence and enforcement responsibilities…. foreign intelligence threats, to uphold and administration. and the bureau of alcohol enforce the crimanal laws of the united states and to provide leadership and criminal justice services to federal, state, municipal, and internationation agencies and partners one of the major purposes of the state police is most jurisdiction is to provide patrol services, especially on remote highways where local law enforcement is sparse state police are often called upon to aid local law enforcement in criminal investigations that are complex or cross local jurisdictional lines often they are ressponsible for maintaining centralized criminal records for the state, operating crime labs, and training local officers the manuel contains official organizations charts and mission and funtions statements united states attorney who prosecute offenders the national security divison, which coordinates the departments higest priority of combating terrorison and protecting nation security the major investigative agencies the federal bureau nvestigation the drug enforcement and the bureau of alcohol, tabacco, firearms, and explosives which prevent and deter crime and arrest criminal suspects, the U.S> marshals service, whichs protects the federal jurisdicition apprehends fugitives and detains persons in federal custody, and the federal bureau of prisons which confines convicted offenders. The litigating divisions enforce federal criminal and civi laws, including civil rights, tax, antitrust,, environmental and civil justice statutes.
