The topic is about resilience and what helps overcoming childhood trauma so adults can succeed or so adolescents grow into “good” adults.

Remember that this is a criminology paper and not a psychology paper!

Emphasize it has a crime / “deviance” focus.

Proposal Guidelines:

The proposal should be approximately 500 words, not including the list of references. The proposal should include the following elements.

Proposed Title:

The title of your proposed topic should be informative but not exceed 15 words.

Topic:

In the introduction, describe the proposed topic you would like to investigate. The professor will help you refine your ideas later in the course, try from the start to identify a clear and feasible topic. A general example of a clear topic would be a review of a debate or controversy in an academic field. Or you could write a critical review of the research literature on a topic with the goal of formulating a research question. Another good possibility is to conduct a project that tries to duplicate, modify, or extend a research question someone else posed. A feasible project is one that can be accomplished within the course timeframe with the skills and resources at hand. In your description, comment on why this topic is important or interesting. Describe the connections between your project and any literature you have read on this topic. Your description should be a short summary drawing on any relevant previous coursework or other activities. Please use a standard citation method to identify any articles or books to which you have referred. The literature cited should be referenced in an accepted academic style in the final section of your submission (see below).
