In response to your recent advertised position in the Administrative Services Office in Atwood Memorial Center, please consider my resume and application in your search for a Student Building Manager. I believe that my cash handling experience, robust portfolio of leadership skills, and knowledge of campus operations will allow me to adapt to the position quickly and excel.
In your advertisement you mention that you are seeking candidates that display strong cash handling experience, attention to detail, and leadership abilities. With my several years of previous experience as a cashier I have regularly received commendations from my supervisors for the accuracy of my cash drawer and have exercised the utmost integrity in my actions.
Furthermore, having been trained to operate in multiple departments at my previous workplace, and successfully conducted myself in those departments, I know I will be able to quickly become proficient in the numerous areas that the Building Managers are responsible for, such as Copies Plus and The Underground.
My involvement in multiple student leadership positions has broadened my understanding of the operations and funding of Atwood Memorial Center, as well as the campus as a whole. During my time in Student Government, I have worked with the Fee Allocation Committee, to distribute large scale budgets, funding student-centric services including Atwood.
As the Vice-Chair of the Technology Fee Committee, I have advanced my understanding of the campus technology infrastructure and am familiar with the issues they commonly experience. Additionally, in cooperation with the University Program Board I have assisted in the planning and execution of multiple events in and around Atwood Memorial Center, such as Atwood After Dark.
Summarily, my experience with the financial, technological, and event related aspects of campus have deeply engrained me with knowledge of the functions and procedures that are common with this facility.
Atwood Memorial Center is the beating heart of St. Cloud State’s campus. It is home to numerous events, organizations, and student services that support the academic development of students from diverse backgrounds. With my previous cash handling experience and organizational skills, coupled with the leadership abilities that I have developed while attending St. Cloud State, I believe I can excel in the Building Manager Position.
