Country Election Case Study paper
Country Election Case Study paper: Your final assignment for this class is to write a 4-5 page essay on the most recent election that has occurred in one of the countries we have covered this semester. You will look at an election that has already happened (not one that is on-going). This may be an executive or legislative election. You will describe how these elections occur (what electoral system is used and what regulations pertain to the election). You will explain two or three of the major issues at stake in the election. Finally, you will provide the electoral results. Your concluding paragraph may suggest future concerns or issues for the country in question.
- Select a country from the case studies we have read this semester (NOT the USA).
- Write a four to five page paper (double-space, 12pt Times New Roman font, one-inch margins).
- To meet the requirements, four full pages are required–not three pages and two lines of text on the fourth page.
- Explain how parliamentary/legislative elections (or selections, in the case of non-democratic regimes) occur in the country
- You will rely on the case study readings for this aspect.
- Explore the major issue(s) at stake in the most recent national election (selection) and report on the results of the election.
- Use at least three newspaper sources from only the following news agencies: The BBC, The Washington Post, The Washington Post, The New York Times, The Economist, or Aljazeera English, in addition to the case study information. If you have trouble finding articles from these sources let me know and I will assist you in finding credible sources.
- Citations should be in MLA format with in-text citations.
- Include a correctly formatted works cited page.
- DO NOT use headers of any type. Your paper is submitted under your student ID number so I do not need your name or other information on the top of the paper.
- DO NOT use subject headings. A paper this short does not need them.
