Hello All,
After taking the assessments, it seems my Jungian type is ISTJ (Introvert, Sensing, Thinking, Judging) and my Keirsey Temperament is Guardian. I honestly have never been a fan of taking these types of tests/assessments, but it was somewhat enjoyable to find out what it would categorize me as.
This week’s topic about having $8 million to spend on a dream house can be exciting to “dream” about, but I definitely look at it with more of a realistic approach. If I had $8 million, is this all the money I have? Or am I wealthy in this scenario and this is what I have sat aside to build my house?
Looking at this from my current perspective and income, I would not spend all $8 million on building a house. Afterall, there are the yearly taxes to consider afterwards. This is one reason I would opt for the cash option on the HGTV dream home giveaway.
I honestly do not have a specific dream house layout in mind, but it would sit on quite a bit of land and would be rather small compared to most standards.
I would purchase a full section (1 square mile/640 acres) here in my home state and build a log cabin type home right in the middle. This would not take all the $8 million and I would do a lot myself to save money, so I would also purchase a smaller home/land or land/RV in Arizona to spend my winter months. I could retire on what is left over and run cattle, crops, hay on the 640 acres to supplement my retirement. I could go on and on with this scenario because I look at it more than just $8 million to spend on a house.
