Topic: Hypertension Management in the Older Adult
Hypertension is a common condition in older adults. Older adults benefit from the treatment of their hypertension, but special considerations need to be given before initiating pharmacological therapy due to the risk of increased complications. Discuss two strategies that you will use when initiating antihypertensive therapy in the older adult (you may consider things such as goal BP, class of medications, laboratory monitoring of therapy, monitoring for side effects, etc.) Plese add 3 references.
Discussion 2
Topic: Deprescribing
Older adults can benefit from the process of deprescribing or reducing the number of prescribed medications by weighing the benefits and the risks of each drug. Review the article by Lai & Fok (2017) and apply the 5 step process to a patient from your clinical experience. Be sure to choose a patient over age 65 that takes >7 medications. Address whether each medication remains appropriate for this patient or if you think it can be discontinued. Provide rationales for your decisions. Please add 3 references.

Comment this
I enjoyed reading your post! I found your comment about humans’ beings being stewards of God because God gives life, to be very interesting. I had never thought about life in that way. Thinking in those terms really switches the focus from “me” to what can I do to please God, in other words, what I am here for and how can I leave the world a better place? Thank you for that.
I also agree with your statement at the end of your post that all of these issues, specifically stem cell research have positive and negative elements. I was not very familiar with stem cell research and took this as an opportunity to do a bit of research. To me, it seems very wrong that IVF embryos that are “not needed” are given to research. Something about that does not sit well with me. It is a very delicate and complicated subject, because as you said much good can come from research as well. I found the link below to be very informative. Thank you for your post!
