Because of the economic downturn and tight job market caused by the COVID- 19 pandemic, you took the gig in North Dakota even though it’s not where you geographically want to be.

However, you genuinely like your boss, and under her tutelage, you have improved your workplace communication and interpersonal skills as well as your technical abilities. She has now asked you to write an article for EY’s “Central Plains” internal company newsletter about how [audit, tax, or advisory; pick whichever is your chosen field] will embrace automation in the coming decade.

You and your boss both know that well- written, topical regional pieces often get picked up by the EY global newsletter – in other words, she is trying to help you get noticed outside of Bismarck so that you can move on to a bigger market.

Instructions:

Write a MAXIMUM 750-word article about how your chosen field will embrace automation in the coming decade. Your audience members are other accounting professionals, so you are free to use industry terminology. But your writing should be geared toward a results-oriented business audience: to the point, simple, clear, and direct.
