A journal is a short, informal reflection on your own life, ideally about 1 page long. At a minimum it should be greater than 300 words; I’m looking for more than half a page of writing. These assignments do not need to be extremely academic in language. The audience for a journal entry is yourself – I will simply check the effort that you put into the journal. You may write about any subject or event in your life related to topics discussed in class. You only need to write about one topic/event. Do not feel required to use the suggested topics – you may write about anything interesting to you. Inclusion of course terminology in your journals demonstrates that you are paying attention and understand how the course concepts apply to the situation you’re discussing.

Format Keep your format simple. Standard MS Word: margins, 11pt Calibri font, 1.15 line spacing. Include your name, the class title, and date of writing at the top of each journal. To help me keep things organized try to name your file something sensible like: your name–MtW–Journal 1.docx.
