Psychology and Education Research paper

All students are required to complete and submit a research paper the citation style recommended by the American Psychological Association (APA).  Students will be doing an introductory literature review of a topic approved by the instructor.  This paper must be submitted to here to be graded.  Students will have an opportunity to submit revise a draft of their paper to check for plagiarism if turned in a week early. Follow the guidelines listed below for successful completion of this assignment.

1. Students will choose a topic that they find interesting from this course and expand upon that topic (Example:  Current Treatments for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). Make sure to get approval from the instructor for your topic (Assignments: Research Topic).  The paper must be at least 5 double-spaced typed pages and also include a title and reference page (for a total of 7-9 pages). At least four reputable sources must be used. Sources should be from at least the last 8 years, without permission from the instructor.

2. Quoted material must begin and end with quotation marks then cite the source in parenthesis, immediately after the quotation marks. For example: “The placebo effect disappeared when behaviors were studied in this manner.” (Pierceall, 2013, p.276)

3. When citing sources in the body of the paper, use the author-date method. For example: Smith (2008) compared reaction times Or In a recent study of reaction times…(Smith, 2008).

4. The reference list should contain any outside sources used to prepare your report. The entries should be arranged in alphabetical order by the surname of the first author. Use APA format.
