In this paper, you will look back on personal experiences in learning course materials in the subject and measure how that experience has helped you to grow or change during the semester.

The course has provided you with a grounding in key aspects of Communication Theories and their functions and are concerned with the systematic description and explanation of a particular phenomenon. The major function of theory is to describe, explain, and predict behavior and is heuristic for it stimulates and guides the further development of knowledge. Theories of Communication Reflection

Throughout the semester, we discussed how theories help us to make sense of the world around us. Some theories are “grand” (think ideologies), while others are more narrow (consider particular economic or scientific theories –like the theory of relativity).

But regardless of their scope, all theories shape how we make judgments about reality, relationships, circumstances, and decisions in our lives. More importantly, this course exposed you to theories of communication, both large and small, with the intention of better equipping you to make sense of the communicative aspects of your world. In this paper, you will document your understanding and interpretation of different theories and what you have learned. It will have a clear introduction, body, and conclusion to share your learning experiences, knowledge, and skills-set and how those learning outcomes created change in you during the learning process in the semester. The paper has two parts, and the following are the outlines for your guidance:

In Part I, you will express your learning outcomes from the class, and it should include the following elements:

Have a sound grasp of the concepts, functions, and processes of communication theory; have compared the field of communication studies with other social sciences and understand its varied contributions to the knowledge/practice of human interaction. Theories of Communication Reflection

Have to analyze communication phenomenon from different perspectives (both general theoretical views and specific theories);
