Draft of the Problem Statement
Stress is among the critical issues facing patients with diabetes. But we remain unaware of the much damage that stress can impact on Type 2 Diabetic (T2D) patients. Psychological distress and stress play a vital role in the intensification, development, and chronic nature of diabetes. Stress takes up a dual role i.e., effect and cause, in its relationship with diabetes- stress can be considered both a consequence and at the same time a cause of type 2 diabetes (T2D). Stress increase glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1C) and glucose. At the same time, T2D and its affiliated consequences can exacerbate stress levels among T2D patients as well as inflict other behavioral, physical, and mental disorders (Zamani-Alavijeh et al, 2018).
The problem is that T2D patients face high and intense stress levels that result in poor self-management practices that cause challenges in managing blood glucose levels. Saraei & Hatami (2016) posit that T2D is susceptible to the impacts of stress to the point of bringing forth a bilateral relationship between the disease and stress with a two-way random sequence. One, an indirect trajectory that involves the impact on the individual’s health via the individual’s behavior- emotional stress may worsen the patient’s behavioral changes to the point of an individual failing to observe recommended medication, exercise, and diet.
Two, a direct trajectory -stress stimulates the adrenal gland to release cortisol and epinephrine that trigger a rise in blood glucose levels (Saraei & Hatami, 2016). Thus, it is crucial to search for and employ strategic stress management measures that will enable T2D patients to practice proper self-management and as a result, properly regulate their blood glucose levels. The research brings knowledge on the vitality of non-pharmacological stress management techniques as a way of improving self-management efficacy and allowing for proper blood glucose level management among T2D patients.

Program of Study: Doctor of Management
The problem is that employees are tired of coming to work, morale is low, they do not feel motivated or inspired. In fact, they can not perform at their best because of the stress and anxiety that is associated with coming to work. I would like to find out what employees would like their employers to do in order to increase morale, productivity, performance, and improve the over all happiness.
Employees happiness is not only beneficial for the worker, it is also beneficial to the company. According to Forbes, there was a study that found happy employees to be 20% more productive than employees that were unhappy, those who were in sales, increased their sales by 37% (Preston, 2017).
The potential benefit of addressing the problem would be a decrease in absenteeism, increase in morale, workers getting along better, employees becoming more engaged, increase in creativity, and overall employees actually enjoying coming to work. The potential benefit of addressing the problem for the company would be an increase productivity, increase in revenue, and even happy employees brag about their jobs and that word of mouth would cause others to either support the business or even attempt to work there themselves. The potential benefit of addressing the problem would possibly be beneficial to society Because we would have less mean, stressed and aggravated drivers on the road. Have you ever gotten off of work and been so ready to leave and get home that you got in your car and just sped through traffic, beeping your horn at all of the slow drivers and switching lanes in an attempt to get ahead of the slow cars? Then other day when you had a calm, peaceful day, you get off of work and head home and you’re not in a rush, you drive safely, calm and you take time to enjoy the music and the scenery. You might even call someone to talk about how your day went while making your way home.
The purpose of the proposed qualitative exploratory study is to explore why employees are unhappy while at work. 9 employees working in an automobile manufacturing facility, located in Sterling Heights, Michigan, will be participating in a semi-structured interview process. The purpose of the interview is to understand why the employees are unhappy and why they do not like coming to work. The results of the study could encourage employees to implement certain amenities and incentives to increase morale and encourage the employees to want to come to work.
